I design and deliver tailored programmes for educators, to explore, question, and develop their professional practice and personal skills.

Purpose

  • Question status quo and provoke meaningful reflection, leading to positive changes in thinking and practices.
  • Ensure all members of the school community are recognised, respected, and encouraged to thrive.
  • Enabling learners to discover their personal, social, and intellectual worth in a safe and equitable learning environment.

Approach

I help you stay connected with your passion for education by encouraging you to break out of established patterns of working and explore new approaches. Together, we take time to understand your needs and specific context, support you to reconsider your everyday practices and identify where you can take risks. Based on this, I design tailor-made, transformative learning opportunities which allow you to move towards more progressive and rewarding professional experiences.

Method

My method is structured around three key stages:

  1. Questioning and challenging personal beliefs and assumptions, alongside institutional conventions and practices.
  2. Exploring potential and capacity for change by defining personal and institutional goals and addressing their obstacles.
  3. Developing strategies for continued growth for individuals, teams and broader school communities.

How does it work?

I start by listening and observing to discover more about your context, needs and expectations. I ask challenging questions and offer thought-provoking insights on what I see, hear, sense and know. Based on these insights I then design tailored programmes to accompany you in your reflective practice and professional development.

What are the programmes?

Programmes vary to suit you. They may include personal coaching, individual lesson visits, instructional coaching, practical workshops, team focus groups and bespoke courses.

Can’t I do this myself?

Our school days get busier every year. It’s difficult to get alone time (let alone with colleagues) to reflect deeply on our practices. All the while, we come up against more and more challenges demanding more reflection, creativity, and collaboration. Our ‘free’ time is often spent doing admin tasks or in meetings which add extra work rather than focus on our jobs and teaching practices. Thanks to the opportunities I provide, you will develop new ideas and tools which will help you maintain higher motivation, engagement, and satisfaction in your everyday professional life.

You’ll come away with:

  • A fresh outlook on best practices from evidence-based research
  • A personalised plan to maintain the benefits of your professional development long-term
  • Strengthened confidence in your skills
  • Extended support through a community of professionals
